Nexuiz is a free, open source, first person shooter that offers fast paced action and intense battles. Nexuiz had first got its start as a Quake modification but soon it became its own full blown multiplayer shooter. Nexuiz offers a variety of maps, weapons, and races to choose from when creating your on screen avatar.
The World of Padman started out as a Quake 3 mod but it has taken on a life of it's own recently with the release of a stand alone version. While there are no current single-player options there are both online and co-op play modes for this quirky game. Acid Arena Monsterblast is a free Shooter on Quake3-basis. The Download is about 150MB and is loaded with all imaginable colours. The name truly fits. A colourful, messy mix-up! It’s fun (I mean it’s Q3!), but the colours are quite screaming. Play not too much lan games like this ;)

RecWar (LAN-enabled shoot 'em up) RecWar (short for Recreational Warfare) is a multiplayer only freeware game. It supports up to four players on a LAN.
