Description:
Crysis multiplayer isn't like the traditional FPS multiplayer. Like the game itself, the multiplayer aspect is pretty to look at, but complicated. Like a librarian with a visible tattoo. There are only two modes, both supporting up to 32 players. There's the typical deathmatch, called Instant Action; kill or be killed... a lot. And the other, better mode: Power Struggle, reminiscent of Battlefield 2, where each side has an HQ they need to protect. You get to wear the same powered suit from the solo campaign, you buy weapons and vehicles using points earned in combat, and you level up over time granting access to better selection when buying equipment. You can command all the vehicles from the solo game plus quite a few extras like the tank that shoots nukes. The maps are beautiful, of course. Quite a few take place across land and sea. Throw in the day/night cycle and you've got a lot of potential for some dynamic multiplayer action you just won't find in your typical FPS multiplayer sessions. That being said, you can't simply pick up a Power Struggle game for a half hour, and Instant Action isn't nearly as fun as Power Struggle. So if you aren't prepared to play for an hour or more, you are better off with a bit of Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament. It's all in or go away. Weblinks:
