Description:
Call of Duty in Lan and split screen mode supports up to four players and actually delivers faster action than the one player mode, possibly because it doesn't have to try and contrl the scores of computer controlled soldiers who regularly assist the player in the single player storyline.
Call of Duty has six modes in multiplayer: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Behind Enemy Lines, Retrieval, and Headquarters. Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch simply pit the player with or without teammates, agains other players via lan game or on a split screen. The players grab weaponry, ammo, and powerups all while trying to frag the other guy. Search and Destroy involves planting a bomb on an enemy target to blow it up. The first team to blow up whatever the other team is defending wins. Retrieval plays in a similar fashion, except instead of destroying the target, you claim it and take it home. Behind Enemy Lines works only on internet connections. Headquarters plays very similarly to a game of king of the hill, only instead of a hill you must hold or destroy a radio. The team that reaches the radio first defends it, while the team that doesn't get there first destroys it so that it will respawn somewhere different, giving both teams a new chance to reach it first and rack up some points.
