Nexuiz is a free, open source, first person shooter that offers fast paced action and intense battles. Nexuiz had first got its start as a Quake modification but soon it became its own full blown multiplayer shooter. Nexuiz offers a variety of maps, weapons, and races to choose from when creating your on screen avatar. The maps can range from small simple areas to more complex and interesting places that offer a variety of places to hide and ambush your enemies. In addition to the default maps there are many player made maps that offer even more variety to the game. There is also a variety of weapons to kill opponents with such as shotguns, machine guns, energy weapons, mortars, and rocket launchers that typically cause your opponents to turn into a bloody mess of chunks. Don't worry, if you're squeamish you can always turn off the blood and gore. Want to start the action now? Join in an instant battle online or create a Local Area Network (LAN) game and have only your friends join you while playing. LAN parties with your friends are often more interesting as you are playing with people you know rather than complete strangers.
