Description: AssaultCube is an online freeware first-person shooter that has a client base of hundreds of users with over 60 user-run LAN(Local Area Network) servers online at a time. Although users can engage the game as a single player type, AssaultCube is best known for its multiplayer mode, as well as its great(yet simplistic) graphics, low hardware and networking requirements, multi-platform capabilities, realistic-looking enviroments, and fast, fun, straight-forward gameplay. AssaultCube's multiplayer feature has three different game modes. Free-For-All is comprised of five elimination games in which the last one standing wins the match. Team mode, which includes three games, has the same rules, except users play as two opposing teams. Flag mode consists of four "capture the flag" single player/team matches where the object is to capture and keep the flag under a time frame. Seven weapons can be used to frag/gib enemies in AssaultCube. The Swiss Tech Combat Blade DR-88 and the Mk-77 Semi-Automatic Pistol are effective weapons to disable enemies, but these are your basics and should be used as a last resort if you run out of ammo of more powerful weapons such as the MTP-57 Assault Rifle, Precision Tech AD-81 Sniper Rifle, A-ARD/10 Sub-machine Gun, V-19 Combat Shotgun, and SAL-T3 Grenade. AssaultCube also includes a map editor in which you can manipulate the geometry or "cubes" to build and texture ceilings, floors, and walls, and you can alter cubes into "heightfields" to create and modify landscapes for the network game.
