The transition from the traditional 2D “worm-play†to 3D is an obvious evolution of the series, and requires a step-up in strategy and finesse when engaging in multiplayer action. "Worms" is a turn-based strategy game where each player controls his very own customizable team of delightfully sadistic worm soldiers. The object is to utterly destroy your opponents using the wackiest arsenal in video game history. Although up to four players can take turns on the same machine, the LAN experience allows each player to connect and annihilate from his own computer. While moving into the third dimension can make some gamers cringe, "Worms 3D" manages to make the shift pretty smoothly. A flexible camera system is introduced into gameplay that allows the players to see their worm in third and first person. This is definitely a necessity when playing in 3D multiplayer. A “blimp cam†is also available to show an entire map view. Otherwise, "Worms 3D" is still the same lovable "Worms" of old but with some revamped 3D graphics. Randomly generated maps permit limitless combinations of fully destructible terrains, and environmental conditions require players to incorporate new strategies to defeat opponents. The arsenal is still quite formidable with over 30 weapons and tech choices to bring your enemy to his knees. Revenge!
