Description:
This futuristic warfare game takes place on a battlefield ruled by struggles for land, resources, and technology. The experience of Battlefield 2142 on a LAN can be amazingly competitive and in-your-face as you play with friends and strangers just feet from them, knowing their true reaction when you get that perfect frag on the opposing team.
If you have enough friends, the game can support up to 64 players with weapons ranging from the primitive knife, to EMP weapons that are made to take down the hulking Mech vehicle players can control.
The maps are based off the land they take place on, so expect to see forests in Fall of Berlin or the sandy shores of Wake Island 2142. The graphics are still great for today's standards, and are filled with lush scenery from the green forests, to the war-torn urban sprawl that have been fought over.
When you hop into a giant mech walker and take out a couple of people with just one click of the mouse, you know it will be a good day, especially when you see their faces.
This game is part of a long line of Battlefield games and it keeps up to par with the others, feeling like a battlefield game.
In my own opinion, I've played this game before on LAN, and it has been a blast. If you ever get a chance, try to get in on a tournament or even start your own, and it will be sure to please, even if you aren't that great at it.
