Description:
"Tremulous" is a first-person shooter with some elements of real-time strategy. There are two teams: humans versus aliens. Each team is required to build a base with several spawn points, and then obliterate the other team and their base. Not all structures and upgrades are available at the beginning of match. The teams must progress through a series of stages, one through three, by accumulating kills. Advancing through the stages brings better stuff for your team. The gameplay varies between humans and aliens slightly in that humans upgrade through equipment and weapons, while aliens upgrade by evolving into new classes. By stage three, the aliens have 10 classes and eight structures available to them. The humans have 11 weapons, five different types of equipment and eight structures. Up to 16 people can play per match, and many maps are available. A downloadable map editor lets you create your own and also have accessible many map variations for you to try. "Tremulous" is wonderfully suited for LAN parties. First of all, it’s FREE, so everyone can download it! Secondly, it’s available for many platforms including FreeBSD, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and (unofficially) Mac OS X. Finally, the system requirements are so low, you could play it on your grandma’s computer. With it being so readily accessible to anyone, you and all your buddies can be playing together in no time.
