Description:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first person shooter set in the present day, unlike the previous COD games set in World War II. COD 4 has a great single player campaign, but the campaign itself is short and allows one to finish the game in less than five hours. However, there is more longevity with the multiplayer option, which lets you create LAN(Local Area Network) servers allowing up to 32 people to play on one of 16 different maps. There are several gameplay modes consisting of team and single free-for-all deathmatches. Each mode also has an objective, and you receive experience points for completing objectives and other tasks. Accordingly, you advance in levels and unlock more multiplayer content such as additional perks, challenges, gameplay modes, and weapons. COD 4 also introduces new weaponry and technology to match its Modern Warfare theme. These include the MP5SD submachine gun, the AN/PEQ -2 Target Pointer, and the FGM-148 Javelin portable anti-tank guided missile. Players also have other abilities such as calling in UAV reconnaissance scans, attack helicopters, and airstrikes, if you make enough kills without losing lives. Moreover, the graphics are up-to-date. The lighting and the rendering on the buildings/houses, bases, smoke, and wide-open fields are mesmerizing, and the scenery of some multiplayer maps truly look war-torn with blast craters, destroyed tanks, and other things that you can hide in or behind.
