Capture The Flag, Death Match, Race, all you could have wished for, the first game from the Halo series still does the trick in network mode! A good physics engine makes driving a Jeep a fun job to do. :) The outdoor areas are also designed quite well, so all in all, Halo is fully worth a try! Still one of the better lan games...

Hidden & Dangerous Classic, this is "Commandos" in 3D! The game might be a bit aged, but who cares, it's for free! Especially the COOP mode is very much fun to play. Each player chooses one of the specialists, but only together you can accomplish your mission! Great fun! :) Yeah well, the graphics aren't orgiastic, but you can install it even on your oldest notebook... :)

The second part of the series also features a COOP mode, playing the Singleplayer missions cooperatively spices up things a little. And of course there's a DM mode! ;) 15 different weapons are available, and of course some of them in typical Serious Sam style :) Last but not least, Serious Sam was one of the first game to allow very big maps! What else to say? Play it, it's sheer fun!

The Singleplayer already being great, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 excels in a LAN! The missions can be solved together with friends in COOP, but there's of course the possibility of mere shooting fun in DM mode! A little hint: There's a Multiplayer Demo available for download! |

Acid Arena Monsterblast is a free Shooter on Quake3-basis. The Download is about 150MB and is loaded with all imaginable colours. The name truly fits. A colourful, messy mix-up! It’s fun (I mean it’s Q3!), but the colours are quite screaming. Play not too much lan games like this ;)

Kong is a top-down comic-designed shooter which is made in a funny way and as expected there is a lot of violence again…You can play deathmatch, team deathmatch or capture the flag-mode, others are to come. More than eight gamers can play it via lan and the free 23 MB download is really worth it. A nice network game for in between. |

The third part of the "No One Lives Forever" (Shooter) uses the NOLF2 graphics and the standard game modes (Deathmatch, Teamdeathmatch). New is only the end-of-the-world-mode where you have to collect parts of a big machine..., playable with up to 8 players. Boring and avaerage.There are better LAN games...

Teeworlds (also named Teewars) is a small 2D Shooter (freeware-opensource) with only 4 MB, it really hits the spot for school brakes or luchtime ;). Teeworlds contains all the well known shooter modes and is played with small pacmanlike models. It takes a while to learn how the controls works but than its really great fun, so give Teeworlds a try!! |
