Wow, i love it, in my opinion one of the best lan games ever, great lan game, great fun. And rockstar games offers a free download of that old but as kicking game! Thumbs up! Up to 6 people can drive in the good old top down view through the city and never forget to keep an eye on the instant game item!
Turok 2 The Seeds of Evil is a very old shooter (200 Mhz) the game is realy out of date, but the big amount of weapons (>15) is realy funny and the graphics don't look as bad as it could be with the low hardware requirements. Game modes are deathmatch (rockmatch), Arena or capture the flag. My opinion: Give a try, short-time fun.
A dream comes true, since GTA3 i wanted to play the 3D-GTA games in LAN and now the mod SA-MP makes it possible. Hunting a car with a jet through a city is realy mind-blowing! Heres a short tutorial how to play GTA-SA as lan game.
360* 3D deluxe, the sky is the limit. After the first and the secound part in the 90s (lan games too) Descend 3 (spaceship ego shooter) was released in 2001. Flying your heavily euquipped spaceahip and shooting your enemys in the open terain is realy fun... Descend still lives!
Cube2: Sauerbraten (Sauerbraten = marinated beef) is an open sourche shooter based on the sauerbraten-3d-engine. Online offers differnt modes deathmatch, last man standing, Capture, Quake-style Capture the Flag. Also a great feauture is the coop-map editor.
First Urban Terror was a Quake3 Mod, but since a few years it is as standalone game available schould be listet here. UrT has Quake3-graphics and Counterstrike gameplay and its realy funny. The lan game is freeware and only 700 BM. So try it, its fun!
Never Winter Nights (1) is a classical role playing game. In LAN you can enter a group (every one is playing a single character) and go for solving the riddle of the city Neverwinter. The skill-system is well done and there are lots of special items. There is a lot of fun while playing and fighting together! Fun for a long time is guaranteed!
The boring single player mode was the reason because that game has not really became common, but the muliplayer mode is really amazing. The choice of weapons is impressive and and you can take all hand weapons in both hands. The game has minimal requirements (1ghz) and so it is possible to play that lan game on older pcs and notebooks as well.
On chip.de website Xreal becomes fast „download of the month“ because the fast 3d-shooter network game is providing a lot. The Xreal preAlpha is based upon a modified Quake3 engine and the game feeling is similar, too. But the graphic is really much better. The 380MB are worth to download. There are not much models and maps (preAlpha), but the developers are showing there skills! Thumb up!
OpenArena is a free clone off the popular computer game QuakeIII Arena. It is available for free for win/mac and linux. Even the original maps of Quake3 can be played with this clone without any problems. The 250MB are worth for downloading :)
